The Cubs might go after former Blue Jays reliever B. J. Ryan, since he was recently placed on waivers. He won't be claimed off waivers by another team because he has $15 million left on his contract. If a team were to claim him, they would be on the hook for the money. This means he would clear waivers and be given unconditional release. That would put the Blue Jays on the hook for his contract. (Any team that signed him would still have to pay him the minimum salary.)

Jim Riggleman takes over as interim manager for fired Manny Acta. Nationals will still suck and you can mark that one down.
